About Alberts Schloss

Bier Palace, Cook Haus, Wunderbar, Schloss, Bakery and Bohemian Pleasure Palace. . .

Alberts Schloss Description

WHO IS ALBERT?

Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s main squeeze. Those Victorian lovebirds knocked up a pile of grand things during their reign…and this place is no exception. Albert’s Schloss will take residence on the ground floor of the iconic Albert Hall.

WHAT'S A SCHLOSS?

A Bavarian palace, country pile or chateau…fit for debauchery. Expect roaring fires, taxidermy, tankers, schnapps and spanking… and lots of wood. It’s Fantastiche…YAH!

BAVARIA & BOHEMIA

Bavaria is a region of Southern Germany, where they consume the most beer on the planet and Bohemia is the old name for a neighbouring region in the Czech Republic (Yah, Bohemia is an actual place not just a term for people with beards) where they make the best beer on the planet. Albert’s Schloss is inspired by these regions, with perilous weekly cross-continental beer runs a must to fill the 4 x 900 pint copper barrels that dominate the bar.

Would definitely rate this place. Enjoyed the live music, the saxophonist and singer especially (great set list - Ed, Otis Redding (Sititng On The Dock Of The Bay), old school R&B). The atmosphere was great, lively and unpretentious, lots of people dancing, unafraid to actually have fun and look like they are having fun, girls in costume dancing on table intermittently with the crowd joining in and doing so too. Polite and friendly crowd with no attitude. I would certainly go again.

We came as a large group last night for my sister’s hen party and we had an amazing time! We had one of the long tables near the stage so we had the benefit of having he benches to dance on. The staff were very attentive, and the food was fantastic! The entertainment again was amazing, such good fun! Can’t wait to go back!!

Up in Manchester spending a few day's with my daughter who is at the uni and this was my treat to her as she has been wanting to have lunch here. It didn't disappoint, with smiley service, lovely food. I shall definitely be coming again on my next visit. :-)

The staff were very good to me. Thank you for the lovely beer. Shame I didn't get to try the Bratwurst. Don't worry. I intend to visit again someday soon. The wonderful theme of the place makes it a sure stop for me and my friends.

Service extremely slow. I had to find someone to find a table for us and to come and take our order after the main course. The main course very very small for the price. Basically we’re both starving after the main course

After the above review and whilst we were at the restaurant, the Manager offered us a complimentary meal and drinks. He was very understanding and helpful. We left as very happy customers thanks to him.

Really enjoyable start to our evening out at Albert Schloss! Very busy but not overwhelmingly so and just added to the great atmosphere. Recommend the Paulaner Munich Lager if you enjoy your lagers. We enjoyed the Curry Wurst Weiners, reasonably priced and just right amount so that you have room for more of the gorgeous beer! Good live band playing whilst we ate. Staff friendly including door staff, greeters and bar staff. Special mention to our table server Emma B who was very attentive, friendly and funny! Overall good experience that I would recommend and will definitely return.

Me and my partner came today for brunch and were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived until we left we were waited on hand, foot and finger. Emma, our waitress couldn’t do enough for us, and was so friendly and warm. The food was out of this world and we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for an amazing morning!

I live in London and this place kicks the ass of anything our Capital has to offer. Mad place, great friendly staff and wonderful live music.

Had my surprise 40th Birthday here on 8th July, we chose this place because every single person from the party that has been here before had nothing but good things to say. Atmosphere is always brilliant and all the staff were amazing, from the guys on the front door to the guys behind the bar, everybody looked after us really well and made my birthday that little bit more special! Can’t wait for next visit to Manchester, will definitely be back!

User

Had family visiting from Germany so clearly this was the obvious choice to watch Germany 🇩🇪 vs Sweden 🇸🇪 in the World Cup

Great food drinks and atmosphere, and a special mention to our waitress, Emma, who was fantastic and looked after us brilliantly.

Been before and will be back, great bar👍

First visit today and all I can say is WOW. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Treated so, so well. Honestly can not recommend this place enough. Will be back on Saturday

User

Came here for breakfast, it was amazing. I had the steak and eggs and can honestly say it was the best steak I've ever had that wasn't cooked by my husband! Also left with boxes of cronuts that were yummy.

Better than Grand Pacific and overpriced restaurants...

My friends and I recently visited Albert's Schloss and I have to say that we were incredibly impressed with the fantastic service.

Our waitress Emma, was extremely easy going, welcoming and flexible.

Our friends find the food absolutely divine, and myself having Coeliac, I am restricted as to what I can eat. But the talented chefs and helpful waitress cooked up something completely safe, yet tasty to perfection.

On other recent occasions, we have taken the rare night out from our ambitious busy schedules, we have experienced the live music and bands featured (And quite an incredible line up of live music they treat visitors/ the people of Manchester to!)

User

A group of us came on Saturday night for dinner and drinks to celebrate 2 x 40th Birthdays. From the point of booking, to service on the night was fantastic. We had an amazing night, the server was fantastic (sorry don`t know her name, red head, medium height (thank you x )) The food was lovely, the band later on were unbeleivably amazing (didnt get their name). What a fantastic night!!!! Thank you ....

Great atmosphere for a Tuesday night. Busy and good ‘variety’ entertainment. Nice cocktails and range of drinks for all tastes.

Attended with about 10 others for a work meal- food was good in regards to price and portion size. One person in our party didn’t get her meal until half way through us eating ours which let the service down a little. Shame she wasn’t offered a complimentary drink or anything for this mishap. Staff were apologetic about this though.

All in all, would return mid-week again.

User

Good food, drinks & staff very attentive. Live band on when we arrived & the place was packed & lively. When band finished, a DJ came on & the place seemed to loose its atmosphere & most of the patrons. Keep the live music, loose ur DJ, he was dreadful.

User

We were sat down quite happy at the bar chatting away when a staff member came over and said ' can I have your chair in ten minutes I need it ' what for I wondered I'm sat down on it in your establishment having a lovely time why do you want my chair??? As you can imagine we left and cancelled our order and I don't think I'll be back terrible customer service quite shocked by being asked such a question .

User

20£ for a glass of wine and a gintonic (which I ordered double and the waitress just fill the half of the measure, so it was one measure in total) not again... I give 2 stars cause the show was quite nice

User

Most appalling customer service I’ve ever experienced. After wearing a headband saying “Miss to Mrs” and a sash saying Team Bride we were seen by at least 4 members of staff before, after eating and drinking, I was told I would need to remove my headband and sash as they “don’t do hen parties.” Apparently the policy is no fancy dress, funny how it wasn’t enforced until after the food order. I can only think that somewhere would want to enforce a no fancy dress policy to try and create a more “up-market” and pretentious atmosphere, but if that’s the case you need to enforce a more general dress code because some of the clientele were, well let’s say, less than elegantly dressed. Nothing about the headband or sash was offensive and our party was a mixture of male and female, all ages ranging from thirties to sixties causing no harm or disturbance. It was totally abhorrent behaviour by the staff here, and the managers on site were not skilled or competent enough to deal with incident. The enforcement of their own policy turned out to contradict the whole purpose of it, it was nothing but unnecessary and offensive.
