Went for a meal tonight..... John was very accommodating and made sure he had a table available for me and my family as we were coming from a long way.... Visited last night for a birthday meal! The 50% off sushi on a Monday is brilliant - the food is such good quality and you get a lot for the money, possibly some of the nicest sushi I’ve had. The “Surf and Turf” was so different but so good. Service was fantastic, with the Waiter even bringing a special complimentary birthday dessert. We will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for a lovely evening!! :)

This was the 6h time ive eaten here and have tried all sorts on tbe menu. I can say i have never had a bad meal and cant say enough good things about this place.

This was my first time here . I loved this place . Presentation and taste wise the food was really good . The service was amazing . I loved the surprise part they had planned for our anniversary . I would love to visit this place again so that i can try some more menu items .

Sakana Manchester is a great place to have food and drinks! I went with my party of 12 for my birthday, and they were extremely helpful and welcoming, and helped with additional seats and vegetarian food as well. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone loved the food and drink, and they brought me out a birthday plate as well which was great. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Chinese and Japanese food as much as I do

Our son took us here for a treat as he goes all the time and I have to say it's definitely worth the trip from Blackpool. Amazing food that is presented beautifully with fantastic service. Will definitely be eating there again. Thank you Sakana x

My NEW favourite place! So many of my friends for years have recommended this place and only tonight I arrived (even though I live in Manc) blown away by the food! The dim sum/sushi is incredible, I also had the Massaman main dish and that was second to none! Andrea our waitress gave the best service which made the night even more enjoyable! Whole experience was 100%!

I tried this place last night through Manchester Confidential. Amazing. Service was great and the food is excellent. Spoilt for choice and ended up choosing several small plates to try as much as possible. I will definitely be back. Walking past I never knew there was a restaurant tucked behind the front bar area. Also good for half price cocktails before 8

Had a fab meal wasn't cheap but defo worth it .......

Came lastnight there were 8 of us altogether our waiter was Aziz he was absolutely first class!! Told us everything about the dishes on the menu right down to the ingredients and flavour absolutely brilliant! The food was fantastic as were the surroundings! Would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope you get Aziz as your waiter!

Amazing food, every dish we had was fantastic. We had the nigiri platter to start which looked beautiful as well as being tasty and then had a main with an Asian tapas as a side - the portions were so generous! Well worth the money and we want to come again

Great meal good service. The music was a bit loud and boring. But overall a pleasant evening.

My friend and I booked on Monday for ‘sushi Monday’ which is meant to be 50% off. On arriving, we gave our reservation name and checked that it was ‘sushi Monday’. We were told yes and went to our table. We ordered a selection of sushi and small plates, which eventually all came, despite having to ask for some of our food as we had almost finished and had still not received all of our order. It was clear they hadn’t even prepared it as we had to wait a further 10 minutes for it. Our waitress also had an attitude issue and couldn’t crack a smile. She was moody and rude. Everything seemed too much trouble. The food which arrived was nice. When we asked for the bill, the money had not been taken off our sushi. We asked for this to be changed only to be told “it had not been quoted and that in the future we need to call on the day to confirm.” The waitress who dealt with this was lovely and made it sound like she had done the right and decent thing and taken the money off. She had not. We questioned this and were told the same thing- “it had not been quoted and that in the future we need to call on the day to confirm.” Nowhere does it say you need to call on the day to confirm. We told her that there would not be a next time as we had no intention of returning. At this she went to ask her manager what to do and returned with the news that they had taken 25% off ONE of the sushi rolls. This was almost laughable and we found this more insulting than if they’d left the bill as it was. We aren’t cheap. We would have been more than happy to pay full price. We did feel very cheated though. Don’t run offers if you can’t fulfil them.

Ok service,over one hour wait for main course made warm plates irrelevant, can’t understand why service was so slow as restaurant was very quiet, that should have been a warning sign, all of this would have been slightly acceptable had food been great but have to say this was the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten, also really expensive and 10% service charge added insult to injury!
