Well I actually won one of those like and share posts .... see someone really does win !!!! It was a 3 course meal at 1847 Manchester restaurant in Mosley St. ... didn't realise it was actually a vegetarian restaurant... now I'm very partial to a nice steak but was really excited to go. ... the communication with manager Rares was great and the food was a real eye opener ... The best cauliflower cheese Sunday roast ever with honestly THE best gravy I've ever tasted ... beautiful beetroot salad starter and a gorgeous rhubarb donut for desert. Altogether a great prize and really recommend this hidden gem. Staff Shaun & Sam were on point and attentive so thank you sincerely we had a lovely evening

We were a party of five for a 30th birthday. The restaurant had kindly allowed balloons and a cake to be dropped off prior to the event, so that our table looked great upon arrival.

None of us had been before so we choose one of every starter to share. All were delicious.

The mains were amazing too and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive but not in our faces all the time. They went above and beyond to make our evening special.

There was even a point where the whole restaurant was asked to be silent as a young man, on another table, proposed to his girlfriend. She said yes and we all applauded. It was such a lovely atmosphere.

My only gripe would be that a 10% service charge was already added to the bill. I find this a little cheeky/insulting as it's like they are assuming we wouldn't tip otherwise. With service this good, I fail to see how anyone would choose not to tip. In all probability, left to our own devices, the tip probably would have been greater.

Apart from that, which is my own personal bugbear, the whole experience was brilliant and I would challenge any die hard meat eater to try it. The textures and flavours are so amazing, you wont even notice you're not eating a dead animal!

The halloumi and chips is the best thing I've ever tasted. Great place, friendly staff, veggie or not it's well worth a try.

Second visit. Lively atmosphere. Great vegan food, bit pricey, but delicious. Excellent service. Will certainly go again.

My first time at 1847 yesterday and I was utterly impressed! We came as a group of two vegan sisters, my vegetarian partner, pescetarian mother and meat eating father (who I was worried wouldn't enjoy it as it's not what he's used to, I was just happy that he was willing to try it as my sister, partner and I are usually the ones who don't enjoy our meal so much when there isn't much choice for us in the places they want to go to!). Well it was absolutely amazing, I'd go as far as to say it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Everything was done just perfectly and so so tasty. Even my dad, although he won't admit it too much, did enjoy it too! I loved the mini pumpkin roast with the purple carrots, I'm obsessed with all things Halloween so it was perfect! And the brownie is absolutely to die for! Choice of cocktails is good and some very unusual concoctions! I was quite sceptical to try the chilli and vanilla one but I went for it, and I was so surprised at how gorgeous it was! The chilli wasn't overpowering at all it was perfect. My only disappointment is that this restaurant isn't in Sheffield! But I will definitely come back here when I'm in Manchester again. Absolutely amazing thank you!

Me and my boyfriend came here last night for our anniversary and loved it! My boyfriend was worried that the food would just be plates of vegetables but the flavours and the presentation of the food was just beautiful. The menus clearly states which dishes are STV as does the wine list which makes the whole experience even better. The restaurant inside chic and minimalistic and the staff are are wonderful and attentive. We will defiantly be returning

Had an incredible experience tonight at 1847, and given some of the recent reviews we've read, it totally exceeded our expectations. Firstly, we had a free cocktail on arrival which was a nice surprise and from booking online - I had the Thai chilli spice one, very lush. My starter and main course were absolutely divine - presentation was creative and beautiful, and the flavours were fabulous. Both myself and my partner were really stunned by the quality of the food, but also the service was excellent as well, with friendly staff! I've been a few times to the old site, and wasn't so impressed, but tonight was really a very different experience indeed. I don't rate the actual premises quite as much, felt a bit canteeny with the light too bright/harsh, but the actual food and service couldn't be faulted.

Excellent vegan food and cocktails and the staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful.

Can’t give this wonderful restaurant enough credit! 5 stars aren’t enough! Loved the vegan options especially, will be back to visit as often as we can.. well done guys,just fantastico!! ��

Came here tonight with my mama and my vegan (Head Chef) brother for his birthday for the first time and we were all so impressed! Lovely atmosphere, decor, size, and food! Well the food was BEAUTIFUL! We were oohing and ahhing a lot! The food was presented so beautifully it reminded me of Michelin star quality and a very eclectic menu was a nice surprise! Also I’d like to mention the staff; you’re all absolute gems! Don’t change. See you all again soon for sure! �� VEGAN POWER

Had a wonderful meal here with my Dad on 18th January. My dad got a Manchester confidential voucher when I told him I was going to try and go throughout January without eating meat, we were both quite dubious about it as we are both keen on our meat and when looking at the menu had found nothing that jumped out at us. However, we were both left stunned with the quality of the food, the range of flavours and textures and how surprisingly full we felt! The staff were very attentive and polite and provided us with excellent service. I would definitely go back here but hope to do so when the other toilet is fixed. It was very busy in the restaurant and having to queue in the tight area next to the pass put the tiniest dampener on what was a wonderful experience!

Food was fantastic as always. The service less so as our server was new but a friendly, personable lad so I'm sure he'll be fine with a few more shifts under his belt and the rest of the staff were warm and welcoming. Food came out quickly for a Saturday night and we were eating within minutes of being seated. One thing that did stand out was the lack of duck eggs, Malbec and bread. Don't think I've ever known a restaurant to run out of bread before? I know 1847 has just moved so I assume it's something to do with that? I would really, really have liked to have given five stars, especially as I've had such good experiences in the past but I'm afraid the above glitches make it a four. Will definitely be returning and would always recommend but might wait for the wrinkles to be ironed out.

Enjoyed the food very much. Felt there was quite a long wait for service, drinks, food. Food, although small portions I found filled me up.



I’d recommend to others.

This was our first visit to their new premises. I liked my starter (tiny aubergines but unfortunately with burnt bits) but my beetroot main was far too salty so it was hard to pick up other flavours. My rhubarb dessert was perfect. We find we have to eat three courses here as they seem to believe that less is more ‘food fashionable’. The dishes are minimalistic.

My husbands celeriac main was unpalatably salty so we don’t recommend that. The chef is new and s/he obviously loves salt. We did mention that less salt would be better.

Service is good, waiters are excellent. Ambience fine. We went on a half price deal so it was good value. We love that they have good vegan options. I’m going to try and get here for lunch. Will report back on that. 😄

Firstly, not a great welcome. Staff all fumbling around over who was going to seat us. Not a great menu. The halloumi and chips were nice but lets face it most pubs do that now, so expected something more original and tasty but starters and other mains weren't very appealing from their description. No mayonnaise anywhere in the building......what??

Also, the dessert menu all explained what ingredience were in them but not actually what they were! How can you make a choice based on that? Went for cheese and biscuits in the end but they were all blue veined........i hate blue veined cheeses! Then finally we stayed for a couple of drinks as it was raining outside. Was charged £8 per cosmopolitan but both massively varying in sizes.......dont think we'll be going again tbh. Shame. Greens will always stay my favourite I'm afraid.

I was really looking forward to try this Vegetarian Restaurant and booked it specially for a birthday treat. However I found the whole experience very disappointing.

The atmosphere was very cold and the furniture was uncomfortable and it felt more like a cafe then a restaurant.

When my food did arrived it was cold and a very small portion.

I thought the menu was very overpriced for what You got and I left still feeling hungry.



I was compensated with 50% off the food bill for which I was grateful as this is the price I believe the food was worth

I will not returning

I walked out! So bloody embarrassing.. 5 main meal options?! Each of the dishes I had made at home so this was nothing new to me, for £16 a main? Staff were so lovely hence the one star! They really really need to update there menus, eve whetherspoons has a better vegan/vegetarian menu...
