Went here with my hubby - a bit of a last minute kid-free night, so were pleased to be able to get a reservation.



Was welcomed by a lovely lady and shown the bar as we planned to have drinks first. Started with cocktails. Unfortunately service of our drinks was slow, but ambience was good and we were bought a bottle of water whilst we waited. Cocktails were fab when they arrived.



Went to our table an hour later. We told that there were a couple of things theyвАЩd run out of as soon as we sat down, but that was fine as plenty to choose from.



Also had chapeldown wine on the menu. A favourite of mine. After ordering it we were told that they had none chilled but offered a more expensive alternatives at the same price. However he decided to wait instead. And it was worth the wait!



We ate - ham hock and mackerel pate to start, then chicken pie and rib eye steak with sides of manc fries (gravy and cheese!), chargrilled broccoli, mushy pies and port and Stilton sauce (recommended by the lovely waiter) . All were to die for.



Altogether a cracking meal!

Well 1761 is definitely going to be my number one choice to bring friends and family to.... attention to detail, decor and staff are outstanding, and understated class wins the day. I only popped in to show my mummy as this should have been my 50th birthday venue last year (previously Avalanche)

We also came across this place by accident and IвАЩm sure glad that we found it. The place is amazing the food is lovely and the staff especially Jamie are wonderful would defo recommend this place and would be going back in the New Year

Visited here last night with my husband out for our wedding anniversary. We only went in the bar but the decor is lovely and the service was excellent. We enjoyed a few drinks and look forward to going back especially when the fish tank is finished. We also plan to go back to enjoy some food in the restaurant. Definitely recommend this place.

Spent a lovely couple of hours in here today I have to say what a gorgeous place and the food was amazing we had all the nibbles and I honestly cannot say which was the best as it was all truly scrumptious.I had the battered Haddock with beef dripping chips пњљпњљпњљcheers to the chef and our waiter was so friendly and informative about the menu couldnвАЩt do enough for us. We will be back пњљпњљпњљ

Lovely atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. There were three of us and we all had the ham hock starter followed by sausage and mash, corned beef hash and a burger. We could only manage the one pudding between us and finally agreed on the sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice cream. All absolutely delicious will definitely be back. When they knew it was a birthday celebration we were each given a glass of proseco on the house. Can't recommend this place enough.

Headed here as the independent owners have another place where we live which is a very nice place. They have done an amazing job with the refurb of these premises and it was clear on entering that they not scrimped on anything, from the opulent but not ott decor to the furniture to the personalised '1761' glasses. We were originally just going to have a couple of drinks but bumped into the owner who gave us a guided tour. The downstairs cocktail bar (although shut as it was afternoon) is/ will be very impressive and the forthcoming ambitious installation of an enormous fish tank ( engulfs a whole wall) will really make this stand out as a venue. The staff were incredibly helpful and very professional. We decided to stay for food and weren't disappointed. There is a lunchtime and evening menu with the former available till 5pm. We ate from the latter and had selection of nibbles to start including olives, and houmous. A modern twist of corned beef hash followed for me, topped with an egg whilst my partner (veggie) had the Bubble n Squeak. We finished off with an old school dessert of a cross between Cornflake pie/ Manchester tart ( people who schooled in Manchester in the 70s and 80s will be able to taste this from the description ) it included vimto jam and was awesome.

The owners have gone for a very tangible but subtle Mancunian slant on the place and are clearly aiming at the upper end of the market. Pub grub it definitely ain't.

It's an adventurous project from the owners and they deserve some success for their boldness. I would definitely recommend it and since they have a 50% off food offer till the end of the month if you book online, it would make sense to try it sooner rather than later.

Fantastic!! We booked for a group of 10 for a family get together. The setting was lovely and the service was even better. We were taken care of by Jasmine who was attentive and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble for her (including taking photographs- thanks Jasmine). As there were 10 of us, all the meals didnвАЩt come out at the same time but that was because we hadnвАЩt pre booked our food, Jasmine ensured that we were aware of the situation and was on the ball. Great wine recommendations too. Some reviews had commented on the small portion size and blandness of food ???? Simply not the case!! Delicious tasty food with more than ample portions. We will definitely be recommending and visiting again. пњљ

Pleased to be able to book a table with some friendly attentive staff for about 6.30. Nice environment and I liked the music (I didn't expect that type of music to be played in that kind of restaurant).

Didn't fancy any of the starters as I am vegetarian and there is a lot of meat and fish on the menu (and a mushroom starter then there is only mushroom risotto, bubble and squeak risotto or salad I think for mains) The mushroom risotto was lovely but quite small compared to the burger!

Partner absolutely loved the burger and chips and drinks menu.

Mains arrived quickly served by Jamie

Enjoyed the mulled quince but again, small portion.

Would go back and would recommend I am sure you will enjoy your evening!
